I Will No Longer Be Endorsing The Beeing's Project.
The controversy, I was just made aware of...👇
The Beeings controversy…
What happened? And why am I choosing to no longer publically endorse this project at this time?
Along with some of my own thoughts that you will probably make some of you angry. (bear with me guys...)
The Facts:
Okay, so let's just jump right into it. What are the facts?
@TheBeeings founder has openly revealed on his Twitter space that he has made some less than savory comments on the internet and now is proclaiming to be a changed man.
Why does this matter?
Well, after that shocking Twitter space a good amount of the community is upset with him and is bringing his old tweets to light.
Many of the alleged screenshotted tweets in circulation bring up derogatory comments he made about women.
Please realize that everything people are spreading such as screenshots of negative comments he supposedly said about women are to be taken as allegations. The tweets appear to have been deleted so nothing can be proven with certainty.
Why is the community angry?
Well for obvious reasons the community is upset about some of the comments he chose to make on the internet. But I noticed that many are particularly upset with the religious aspect of his Twitter space talk.
In particular, people seem to be complaining that he has pronounced Jesus as his lord and savior and that he is a changed man. They complain about the fact that he is expressing his faith and is openly speaking about his past mistakes.
My thoughts:
I can no longer publicly endorse this project because of the founder's checkered history on the internet. In the future, this may change, however.
I believe in people being able to change through the work of Christ. But this does not come without consequences.
The consequences would be that people will have a problem with anything he does from now on. And will always rehash his past mistakes since it was done so publicly.
For me, I need to see proof of a real-life change, not just through words. But really living out a different life.
Where many would disagree with me:
I'm gonna be real with you guys, I am a Christian.
So of course, in this instance, I may be more biased to be compassionate towards people who express a change of heart and admission of their past sins.
Where many people see someone who is always going to be evil, I see someone who can change.
I know from my own life that Jesus really can transform a person if they are willing to let him.
You may think I sound too preachy, rn. But I am merely trying to be honest with you.
I don't share my faith much online because I don't want to push away those who have a problem with Christians. I'd much rather have you guys see me as I am and potentially find out more later on.
I never want people to think I'm pushing my beliefs down their throat but rather see them lived out to the best of my ability.
No one is perfect and this whole situation really shows us that. But that doesn't remove someone's real-life consequences and accountability.
Final thoughts:
If you choose not to support their project I understand, and at this time I am in that position.
But if you do choose to support their project I will not judge you and can also understand that position as well.
All I am trying to do in this is be open and honest about what I found. Especially because they were included in my newsletter. I found out about this whole situation shortly after posting about them. Had I known beforehand, they would not have been added to it.
